Skelley- Bird on Branch- Description “Bird on Branch Litho Print by Crystal Skelley Crystal Skelleys lithograph entitled, “Bird on Branch is a wonderful example of the incredible realism she was able to achieve throughout her long and successful career. Skelley had a fruitful relationship with Geme Art and from the time she joined their group in 1971, until the time of her death, she produced over 200 lithographs for them ranging from florals, birds, and cats, to the sweeping golf course landscapes for which she is extremely well-known. “Bird on Branch is an absolutely charming print of her original painting depicting a small bird perched atop a pinecone nestled on a pine branch. The small and delicate feathers of the bird were painted with extreme detail making it so life-like that it appears that it could take flight at any moment. Meticulous care was also taken to fully articulate the pinecones on which the bird is sitting and the subtle shifts into light and shadow add wonderful dimensionality to them. The pine needles are also rendered very realistically as they reach out beneath the bird. This lovely print is surrounded by a rich chocolate brown mat to compliment the tones of the pinecones, and is mounted in a beige textured wood frame with further accentuates the naturalistic theme. Including the beautiful frame, the piece measures 16 3/8x 19 3/8 and Skelleys signature at date can be seen below the composition. It is truly a wonderful, and affordable, piece that would fit easily into any collection of wildlife art, seasonal art, or even every day décor.
