The 12 Days of Christmas Collection is inspired by one of Waterford’s best loved holiday collections: the 12 Days of Christmas Annual Ornament Series. Each edition of the “12 Days of Christmas” Collection features a crystal pattern specially selected from the Waterford archives. In Ireland, 12 drumming drummers would no doubt be playing the bodhran, a hand-held drum that provides the “heartbeat” of Irish music, The bodhran serves an important role in many Irish holiday festivities, such as St. Stephen’s Day (December 26) when the “Wren Boys” carry a captured wren from house to house, playing and singing as they go.
