Iris Floral Lithograph by Crystal Skelley Crystal Skelleys floral lithograph entitled, Iris, is a wonderful example of the incredible realism she was able to achieve throughout her long and successful career. Skelley had a fruitful relationship with Geme Art and from the time she joined their group in 1971, until the time of her death, she produced over 200 lithographs for them ranging from florals, birds, and cats, to the sweeping golf course landscapes for which she is extremely well-known. This particular print is a gorgeous composition consisting of 3 soft, lavender Irises cradled by their rich green leaves. The flowers are rendered with such tireless attention to the minutest detail that they appear as though they are right in front of you waiting to be sniffed. Every soft ripple of each tender petal is fully articulated with gentle light and shadow. Tiny beads of dew rest weightlessly on the petals and heighten the sense of extreme realism. It is an absolutely beautiful piece that is enhanced further by the double mat in which it is mounted. The soft white inner mat provides a subtle border to the piece, while the deep green suede top mat draws out the wonderful richness of the greenery within the composition. The pieces presentation is finished by the ornate gold wood frame in which it is housed and brings the overall measurements to 13 ¾ x 16 ¾. It is truly a gorgeous piece of decorative art that would be a wonderful and affordable way to infuse any space in your home with a lush garden feel.
